Volcano Island Bodywork Experience
Jena with Shinzo
Shinzo Fujimaki and Jena Chambers review his NCB Approved Provider application: San Francisco, May 2008

CONSULTING & INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

The Healing Arts Passport Program is Ms. Chambers’ individual consulting and training work with health care practitioners, specializing in massage therapy teachers and schools, helping to expand and improve their operations, impact and government/board approvals and accreditations. It is designed for those who excel in the treatment room or classroom but get bogged down in paperwork, supporting the often-forgotten notion that what practitioners and educators love to share with clients and students deserves full attention.

Holistic Health Leaders Network Gatherings:

We organize and host free networking meetings for NYC holistic health practitioners in private practice or leadership positions. Please email to be considered for the invitation list.

Services to Advance Educators’ Impact:

The Healing Arts Passport Program evolved out of Ms. Chambers’ frequent encounters with gifted bodywork educators, whose career trajectories were held back by their discomfort with the necessary paperwork. As our field becomes more regulated and bureaucratized, this increasingly limits the voice of some of our most heart and soul-centered educators. Our future massage clients and students simply can't afford to miss out on these gifts and lessons. With many requests from inspired bodywork instructors and schools to help them jump through bureaucratic hoops, VIBE’s mission moved her to form HAPP and reach out.

For Teachers:

Ms. Chambers offers individualized, experienced bodywork teacher management and support services, with the goal of boosting instructors toward self-empowerment, independence, and greater teaching opportunities. Her specialties include helping to expand enrollment, impact, and government/board approvals and accreditations, especially helping instructors become NCBTMB Approved Providers of Continuing Education. She has successfully completed the Approved Provider application many times and knows the NCB's expectations well. Also, she can help create organizational administrative systems for teaching businesses and templates for various documents and forms, as well as help instructors manage teaching tours, networking with classroom rental facilities and other massage teaching vendors. Ms. Chambers also offers Teacher Training CE credits. Volcano Island Bodywork Experience is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider (Provider Number: 450723-08).

For Schools, Spas & Organizations:

Ms. Chambers also supports value-driven massage centers toward administrative excellence. Her specialty areas include admissions/student recruitment, operational efficiency, curriculum organization, and developing materials for accreditation/approvals, especially COMTA and NCBTMB (allowing you to issue CE credits for staff/student trainings).

The Process:

We begin with a free phone consultation about your needs and aspirations. Ms. Chambers works almost entirely with long-distance clients via email, phone and/or skype webcam. For extensive projects or with multiple clients in the same region, travel is an option.

Testimonials:

Cameron West, aquatic bodywork instructor and founder of Aquatic Integration™, Fillmore, CA. October 2009:
"Your guidance, expertise and clarity have been beyond what I ever expected, and for this I can only say thank you. For years I put off applying for National Approval because I believed it would be an expensive and time-consuming task. You made it comfortable in price and time, and you added in the human quality of being so available for my inexperience and questions. I am so grateful for this, and am loving being able say to my students, "Yes! I can provide you with continuing education as an NCBTMB Approved Provider."

Shinzo Fujimaki, Shiatsu instructor on land and water, Naples, FL. October, 2009:
"Dear Jena, Now that you have assisted me with my NCBTMB, I have the freedom to create higher quality classes that reflect the true essence of my teaching. Thank you!"

Inika Spence, aquatic bodywork instructor and wisdom-point for Healing Dance, Harbin Hot Springs, CA. October 2009:
"I recently finished my application for the NCBTMB CE Provider. Knowing that if it didn't get approved I would have to spend more money to re-apply, I sent it to Jena Chambers for review. I was so relieved to have someone who knows the process inside and out and whom I trusted to look it over. She right away gave me some valuable pointers, and I understood the whole process better. I sent it in, and in a few months I had my certificate. I can't thank Jena enough."

Sunny Klaber, LMT, MS, Boulder, CO. October 2009:
"My passions are teaching Thai Yoga Massage, immersing myself in indigenous cultures, and exploring wild and remote landscapes. For years I dreamed of offering Thai Yoga Massage courses in places around the world where the indigenous healing and wisdom cultures, and the surrounding natural beauty, would merge with the themes and intentions of this sacred art, providing seekers with a truly unique and integrated direct experience of healing while earning continuing education credit. But a formidable mountain of paperwork stood between me and my dream until I found Jena at Volcano Island.

Jena patiently and professionally led me through the approved provider application process. She began by sending me a highly organized packet that outlined the simple steps that I needed to take to submit a successful application. The user-friendly packet reflected an incredible amount of insight and foresight, leaving my with very few questions, but when I needed clarification or advice, Jena always responded quickly with useful feedback and heart-felt encouragement, making the process of generating the raw data quite enjoyable and unintimidating.

Then the real magic happened. She took my raw data, summarized it, added necessary details, formatted it to meet NCB standards, and sent me a completed binder for my approval.

When it came time to put my application binder in the mail, I felt confident that it would be approved, thanks to Jena's diligence and support. And when I shared the good news that it was approved, she was genuinely as happy as I was. Jena, thank you for being so invested in facilitating the advancement of the massage therapy profession and for helping me get one BIG step closer to realizing my dream!

I am happy to report that since becoming an NCBTMB Approved Provider, I have created Integral Travel - a company specializing in offering unique cross-cultural, educational opportunities for massage therapists and their companions to explore and expand their relationship to health and healing. This year, our classrooms are the jungles and beaches of Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Scotland and Brazil!"
